Tenth Anniversary Of Operation Of China Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station Sanya Station

Feb 03, 2020

The reporter learned on the 2nd from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Aerospace Information Innovation Research Institute (Chinese Academy of Sciences Aerospace Academy) that the Chinese Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station of the Academy, Sanya Station, ushered in the 10th anniversary of its operation in 2020. During these 10 years, the Sanya Station has remained stable, Reliable operation status, the annual data reception volume of satellites has increased by 7.4 times, and a total of more than 40,000 orbits of various satellite data reception tasks have been completed.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences Kongtianyuan said that the China Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station, built in 1986, initially had only one satellite data receiving station in Miyun, Beijing, and the range of satellite reception could only cover about 80% of China's land area. In November 2005, the ground station started construction of a national network of terrestrial observation satellite data consisting of three receiving stations in Beijing's Miyun, Kashgar, Xinjiang, and Sanya, Hainan, to meet China's demand for terrestrial observation satellite data in various fields and adapt to national aerospace Need for rapid career development.

In January 2010, the Sanya Station was formally completed and put into operation, which enabled the direct acquisition of China's land observation satellite data to the southern coast for the first time, and resolved the long-term lack of remote sensing satellite data in China's South China Sea and surrounding areas. At present, the Sanya Station has developed five antenna systems and nearly 30 satellite missions, which have become an indispensable and important part of China's space infrastructure and played a key role in China's land observation and space science satellite data acquisition.

After continuous construction and system upgrade, Sanya Station has become a satellite ground station with the world's advanced technology level. Some key technical indicators have taken the lead in the world: it has fully automated satellite data reception, recording and transmission service operation capabilities, and emergency mission response time is not high. More than 10 minutes; with satellite data real-time fast-view image display and reception quality detection and analysis capabilities; a dedicated data transmission link from the receiving station to the Beijing headquarters, which enables real-time transmission of satellite data while receiving, effectively ensuring the timeliness of satellite data transmission 7 × 24 hours of continuous continuous service operation, the current data reception code rate can reach up to 900Mbps in both directions; currently supports the operation of nearly 30 satellites, and the design capacity can support more than 50 satellites.
